Event Details

Join us for a fun afternoon celebrating the great outdoors, literacy, and history as we officially unveil our brand-new Story Walk!

History comes to life under the open sky! Join us for the grand unveiling of our permanent Story Walk, an outdoor reading adventure where literacy meets the trail. Designed for young readers, this permanent outdoor reading feature brings stories to life along the loop. This permanent program installation is made possible by The Beaver County Tourism Department, The Department of Public Works, and managed by The Beaver County Library System.

Our first featured story, George Washington in Logstown, is a true local treasure!

Sponsored by the Beaver County Historical Research & Landmarks Foundation, this book was written in 2020 by two talented students from Baden Academy.

Event Highlights:

  • Ribbon Cutting & Reenacting: In collaboration with History Weekend and America 250, the History Coalition will bring the 18th century to life with booths highlighting the Logstown period. Books will be available for purchase and proceeds will go directly to the Beaver County Historical Research and Landmarks Foundation.
  • Active Literacy: Trade screen time for “reading in motion.” Bring the kids, grab your sneakers, and let's get moving!
  • Hands-on History: Explore more interactive booths from our story sponsors and The America250 Committee.
